Tata Motors has announced that the Nexon compact SUV has crossed the 4 lakh production milestone. This milestone was achieved five years after it was launched in September 2017. On this occasion, Tata has introduced an XZ+(L) variant at Rs 11.38 lakh. This variant sits between the XZ+(O) and XZ+(P) variants and is available in both petrol, and diesel engines, and manual, AMT gearboxes. It gets additional features like a wireless charger, an air purifier, and ventilated seats.

After discontinuing the XZ and XZA variants of the Nexon, Tata Motors recently announced the addition of a new variant XM+ (S) to the Nexon line-up. The Tata Nexon has become quite successful in the Indian market since its launch. The new variant is placed between the XM (S) and the XZ+ variants and the starting price for this new variant of Nexon is set at ₹ 9.75 lakh (ex. Showroom). This variant of the Nexon is packed with some features like an electric sunroof, a 7-inch infotainment system with Android auto and apple car play, 4 speakers, a 12 v charging socket, cooled glove box, rear AC vents, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, digital instrument cluster, multi-drive modes and shark fin antenna. This new variant comes in Calgary white, Daytona Gray, Flame Red, and Foliage Green color options.
Nexon was first launched in 2017 and has received many awards since then. The Nexon recently made its name as the 4th top-selling car in India. The current lineup of Nexon involves 33 petrol and 29 Diesel variants. In total with 62 variants, Nexon provides a wide range of options to choose from. The Nexon is also available in EV versions called the Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max.
The Nexon is the first car in India to receive a full 5-star adult safety rating by Global NCAP, an internationally renowned automotive safety accreditation body, and is much acclaimed for its class-leading safety, design, and driving pleasure. The SUV comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. While the petrol is a 1.2-liter turbocharged mill tuned to produce 118 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque, the latter is a 1.5-liter motor good for 108 bhp and 260 Nm of power figures.
The current Tata Nexon is well equipped with LED DRLs, a revised front grille, lower part rather, scuff plates, flat bottomed steering, a digital instrument cluster, 7” infotainment system with Android Auto and apple car play, Auto A/C, keyless entry, cruise control, and a sunroof. The Nexon goes up against the likes of the Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
